Andeen: I am running for re-election to Paradise Valley Town Council

Paradise Valley Independent, 1/13/2022

I am proud to announce my commitment to run for re-election to Paradise Valley Town Council to continue to preserve our town’s quality of life.

I am a third generation Paradise Valley resident. I have served on Town Council since 2019, following in the footsteps of my father, Dr. Richard Andeen, who also proudly served on Town Council in the 1980s.

I enjoyed serving as a volunteer for the Paradise Valley Police Department prior to being elected to Town Council. I focus on the four pillars of personal and governmental accountability, fiscal conservatism, mountain preservation, protection of open space and safety for our residents.

I am running for re-election to continue to fight for these principals and will continue my commitment to protecting the unique and low density character of our Town.

I love Paradise Valley. It is such a special place and I am so lucky to have grown up here. As a child I rode my horse throughout Paradise Valley. I am fortunate to live on the slope of Mummy Mountain, and now I serve as a public servant for residents.

Paradise Valley has truly shaped who I am. Town residents are successful and impressive people and it is no secret that life in our town is special to the point that it attracts the best and brightest. I enjoy serving our community and its extraordinary people.

I ask for your support by voting for Ellen Andeen for re-election on Aug. 2 to allow me to continue to serve residents with this important, fulfilling work.

My family moved to Paradise Valley from the Midwest in the late 1940s and, over the years, has contributed to shaping the town. My great uncle developed Mummy Mountain Park and gave Mummy Mountain its name. My mother, Anne, served on the Board of Adjustments and Historical Advisory Committee. And, my father served on Town Council. I am proud to continue our family service to Paradise Valley.

I am known for my financial acumen and use my knowledge and experience to examine and safeguard the town’s finances. I received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. My undergraduate degrees from the University of Arizona in 1994 are in both accounting and finance.

I have extensive background in finance and banking spanning 20 years, with a focus in the automotive industry.

I was the chair of ACOPS at the town, which focuses on public safety outreach in working with the police department and the community. I currently serve as the council liaison to the Paradise Valley Arts Board.

Additionally, I serve as a board member of the Phoenix Symphony to enhance the quality of life for the Valley.

I am intensely proud of my deep Paradise Valley roots. My family instilled in me a great respect for our mountains, with their profound and unique natural beauty. Living amidst the breathtaking desert and Mummy Mountain that my great uncle purchased and thoughtfully developed generations ago, fills me with a sense of duty and heritage.

It is both my privilege and pleasure to be a steward of this incredible gift of nature and to do all I can so that both our current and future residents might always be in awe of this magical place we call home.

Please support my voice and candidacy for re-election by voting for Ellen Andeen on Aug. 2. For more information, please go to www.ellenandeenpv.com
